A comprehensive assessment of a technology is of great importance for investment attraction and successful commercialization. The ICSTI together with its partners carries out an assessment of a technology features and novelty, performs valuations of rights and protection of the technology IP, evaluates potential economic efficiency, etc. Within the framework of the preliminary Technology assessment Phase technical characteristics of the technology are brought to the main focus; analysis of economic characteristics and a market potential is carried out tentatively (without involving a special expertize). By the assessment results and on agreement with the author, Technologies are transferred to Phase "Detailed Technology Assessment".

PHASE "Detailed Assessment of the Technology and an Initial Stage of a Customer Search"

Technologies accepted for detailed assessment could be the technologies passed through the Phase II (on agreement with an owner/author) or technologies sent by owners/authors to the TT workspace in accordance with the enclosed form. The technologies which have been sent on the authors' initiative, are put at "Technologies Database". On receipt of the completed form and the preliminary assessment of the technology, a draft of non-disclosure agreement is sent to the owner of the technology. The agreement must regulate exchange of information on the offered technology between the owner and the ICSTI during the negotiations as well as later on, including rules of the information transfer (in required cases) to the third party in interest. Signing of the agreement by both sides is the beginning of cooperation on promoting the technology under agreed upon provisions. By mutual consent the cooperation can be moved to Phase "Negotiations".

PHASE "Negotiations"

This phase can be both continuation of the Phase "Detailed Assessment of the Technology" and a separate sort of service. It is fulfilled on the basis of the negotiated contracts concluded by the ICSTI or its partner with an owner of the technology and/or with a technology customer. A service payment scheme is determined on a case by case basis and includes both service payment per se and a commission fee on successful conclusion of a contract, paid by the customer, as is customary in most cases.
